A day at CPKC: soccer, sunshine, and a very loud crowd
We spent a match day at CPKC Stadium watching the Kansas City Current, and it's easy to see why this place sells out. It's the first stadium built specifically for a women's professional sports team, and it shows — open sightlines, a packed bowl right on top of the field, and a crowd that never really sits still.

What the app picked up
Midway through the match, a glance at the BANZ® Protect app told the story of the day pretty well:
UV Index: 7, flagged “High” — shade and sun protection recommended
Noise Level: 77, flagged “Caution”
The app's read on it: “Sun and sound are both starting to build. Sensible protection is a good idea.”
That's the exact combination we've come to expect at an outdoor stadium on a clear afternoon — nothing dangerous yet, but exactly the point where it's worth reapplying sunscreen and having hearing protection within reach before it climbs further.

An owner who gets it
Mother's Day · KC Current
Brittany Mahomes, an owner of the Kansas City Current, was featured this Mother's Day with her kids — in hearing protection. It's a small detail, but a meaningful one coming from someone with a genuine say in how this stadium and this team show up for families. Coincidence or not, it tracks with everything we saw on our own day out.
Before your next match at CPKC
This is a stadium built with families in mind, and it shows in the small things — but the sun and the noise are still real. Bring sunscreen, keep water on hand, and don't wait for “High” to turn into something worse before you plan around it.
